A Jun-Sencha (non-shaded Sencha) from Satsumacho, Kagoshima. 99% of the teas produced in Kagoshima are shaded, therefore traditionally grown Jun-Senchas are a real rarity from this growing area.
The cultivar Asatsuyu gives this Sencha a wonderful umami and a nice sweetness with an interesting vegetable flavour reminiscent of green beans. Overall, very well-balanced and with a long-lasting sweet aftertaste.
