Mr. Ôta is one of the most famous Sencha masters in Japan. He has won the national competition several times (including 2019 places 1 - 3) and even the Tennô prize. We are the first and only retailer outside of Japan to source teas from Mr. Ôta directly, without intermediaries. His teas are characterized by their extraordinary aroma.
Normally this tea field is used for school projects, but this year due to Corona, they have been cancelled. This gave Mr. Ôta the opportunity to produce a small quantity of this special cultivar this year.
The aroma of this Sencha is extraordinary: honeydew melon and coconut dominate the picture and are accompanied by a beautiful sweetness and light tannins. For friends of oolong but of course also of green teas an absolute must-buy.
Since the projects will probably take place again next year, this tea will most likely only be available this year.
